  6. The Aquiqah ceremony is the name given ceremony that is held seven days after the birth of a Muslim's baby. The baby should be named after Muhammad or one of his relatives, as the name should have a meaning that serves as a reminder of the Islamic faith. The baby's hair is shaved, and that is a symbol that the child is rid of all misfortunes. The hair is then weighed and money, silver or gold equivalent to the weight is given to charity.Goats or sheeps are also killed; two-thirds of the animal meat is consumed by the family members while the rest is given to the poor.Although it is not stated in the Qu'ran;circumcision on male infants is done as it is customary.
